CLOSING NIGHT! ANTIDIVA: THE CAROLE POPE CONFESSIONS | SUNDAY, oct 25, 6:30PM

Q&A with Carole Pope and Director Michelle Mama to follow the screening.

Best Canadian Feature — Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival
Audience Award: Best in Show — Queer North Film Festival
Audience Award: Best Documentary — Queer North Film Festival

Three-time Juno Award-winning queer rock icon Carole Pope was singing openly about lesbian desire on daytime radio before the culture had any idea what to do with her. As frontwoman of Rough Trade, Pope tore through 1970s and ’80s Toronto with sexually charged lyrics, punk-glam swagger and a refusal to make herself more palatable. Decades later, she’s still writing, performing and pushing back. Director Michelle Mama (SUMMER QAMP) follows Pope as she reckons with aging, love, loss and an industry that never quite knew where to put her. With electrifying archival footage and interviews with k.d. lang, Peaches, Jann Arden and Rufus Wainwright, ANTIDIVA is funny, sexy and defiantly alive.
